Divino Niño Pediatrics’s mission is to give the highest quality service with efficiency and professionalism. We pride ourselves in being an exceptional clinic where children come first. Our child-focused practice works hard to meet the needs of children from infancy through adolescence. Compassionate, knowledgeable, and supportive staff is the cornerstone of Divino Niño Pediatrics. All of our pediatricians and medical staff are highly trained professionals and maintain the highest level of accreditation in pediatrics to address the special needs of infants, children, and teens. Medical Director, Dr Denise Nunez is specialized in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Our practice makes us the only pediatric clinic that offers specialized care to children with complex disease such as respiratory failure on mechanical ventilator support and tracheostomy, children with Congenital Heart Disease, heart, kidney and liver transplant.
Divino Nino Pediatric is happy to inform you that we now have a cardiac center in where Dr. Tsounias offers fetal imaging and arrhythmias, pediatric hypertension, and children with congenital heart disease. Also, a pulmonary center in where Dr. Kesebir treats patients with acute asthma, diverse pulmonary disease, shortness of breath, chronic coughing, wheezing, bronchitis, pneumonia, snoring, and allergies.
Dr. Denise Nunez
Dr. Nunez is board certified in general pediatrics as well as board certified in pediatric critical care. She received her medical degree at Pedro Henriquez Urena University in Dominican Republic and completed her pediatric residency at Albert Einstein School of Medicine – Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York. Dr. Nunez completed her fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Albert Einstein College of Medicine were she serves as an assistant professor of pediatrics and trains residents and fellows in pediatrics. Dr. Nunez, is driven by her passion to provide medical care and relief in areas where health care is limited or difficult. Through missionary trips she has touched the lives of patients and their families in those countries. At the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Dr. Nunez instituted patient- and family-centered care rounds in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit, ensuring that patients and their families are the focus of care and are treated with dignity and respect with consideration of their cultural values.
Dr. Liu became a pediatrician because she felt such a strong desire to work with children. She has a passion to help children obtain a healthy lifestyle from a young age so they can have a healthy adult life. She has patience to talk with little children and the understanding to assist teenagers.
Dr. Deniz Kesebir
After earning her MD at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, Dr. Kesebir completed a residency at SUNY Health Science Center and a fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In addition to her MD degree, she also received a master’s degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Clinical Research. At Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dr. Kesebir conducted research on respiratory infections causing pulmonary diseases. She investigated the molecular and sero-epidemiological profile and the clinical characteristics of the human bocavirus (HBoV). For this project she received the Medimmune Fellowship Grant Award, the Len Arlean Fries Travel Award, and the Yale Pediatric Fellow Research Day Award.
Dr. Emmanouil Tsounias
Dr. Tsounias received his Medical Degree at the University of Medicine in Iasi, Romania. His research interest led him to Lennox Hill Heart and Vascular institute in NYC where he focused on cardiac interventional procedures and device research. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York. He received his training in pediatric cardiology at Texas University in Houston, Texas, where he completed an additional year of training focusing in clinical pediatric cardiology and imaging. He is currently treating children with congenital heart disease at Divino Nino, Bronx, New York. His main area of interest includes fetal imaging and arrhythmias, pediatric hypertension and adult congenital heart disease.
Medical Assisting Supervisor/Human Resource Coordinator who has been part of Divino Nino Pediatrics for the past four years. Ann is an extraordinary leader who has the experience to take care of any medical situation.
Billing Coordinator: Mariela completed her Billing and Coding Specialist Certification (CBCS) by the National Healthcare Association. Prior to the National Healthcare Association, Mariela went to New York College of Technology and did a complete course of Medical Billing and Coding.
M. Chantel O’Brien
Chantel O’Brien is the office manager of Divino Nino Pediatrics. She has been in the medical field for 17 years and takes pride in being knowledgeable in all aspects of a medical practice. Her passion to work with children comes from having a large family of her own.
Veronica the Front Desk Supervisor of Divino Nino Pediatrics is an amazing person who goes out of her way to help others and gives the amazing customer service our patients deserve.
Clerk coordinator who assists all medical assistants and providers when needed. He is an amazing person you can always count on.
Clinic Director: Freddy chose to work in a pediatrician office because he wanted a challenging career in the medical field dealing with children and their parents. Providing the most qualified service to our patients is our priority.
Christina is a front desk admin at Divino Nino Pediatrics who loves working with children and assisting families with their needs.
Julaime is the personal medical assistant of Dr. Denise Nunez. She has a passion for medical and helping patients resolve their current needs. Julaime believe is positive thinking and has the daily motto of “Think Positive and positive things will happen”
